Live in Carer job Sorrus

We are looking for a kind, reliable and experienced live-in carer for my 82-year-old husband in Sorrus

My husband is mentally alert and independent in many ways. He suffered a stroke approximately 10 years ago and has a stoma bag and catheter. Visiting nurses attend each morning before 8:30am to wash and dress him, administer medication and manage his stoma and catheter care.

Working approx 8:30am–5:30pm, five days a week, duties include:

• Preparing and serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.
• Providing companionship and ensuring his comfort and safety.
• Taking him to a local café once or twice daily and accompanying him on occasional outings.
• Assisting with gentle stretching exercises 2–3 times daily.
• Giving medication as required.
• Helping with his evening routine, including undressing and settling him into bed.
• Light household duties.

You will have your own self-contained one-bedroom studio apartment with private bedroom/living space and a mini kitchenette. Full board and lodging, a car and petrol are provided. The car is primarily for outings with my husband, with reasonable personal use.

• £1,000 per calendar month
• Five days per week, approximately 8:30am–5:30pm
• Two days off per week
• Private accommodation, board and lodging
• Car and petrol provided

Occasionally, I may travel for work for up to two weeks. During these periods, you would remain at the property and continue caring for my husband as normal, with nurses maintaining their usual morning visits.

You will be patient, caring, trustworthy and responsible, with a genuine enjoyment of companionship and the ability to work independently.
